The Bar at 15 Stamford has a Liquid Brunch that rum dreams are made of

Every last Saturday of the month, The Bar at 15 Stamford runs a cocktail-fuelled liquid brunch that rum aficionados would love.

Weekend brunch hounds may know that 15 Stamford by Alvin Leung in The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore offers a curated brunch on weekends. Every Sunday, the Asian bistro and grill restaurant rolls out a six-course brunch meal with dishes ranging from sharing-style fresh seafood platters, charcuterie boards and other special treats. Like most other weekend brunches, here you can choose from different sparkling wine options to pair with your food.

They’re changing back to a full-service buffet come end-May, but that’s still pretty standard.

What you may not know is that its adjoining bar, The Bar at 15 Stamford, actually puts together a very special brunch that they only offer on the last Saturday of every month.

Called the Liquid Brunch, it is a literal drinks fest.

Sure, there’s some food. The ‘Boodle Fight Feast’ comes as a massive sharing platter consisting of some the best hits of 15 Stamford – fried soft shell crab, pan-seared Norwegian salmon trout, grilled tiger prawns, and Angus beef ribeye, among others.

But the main attraction of The Bar at 15 Stamford Liquid Brunch is its free-flowing cocktails. The rum-focused cocktail bar has an ongoing promotion with Bacardi, so it’s a bonus for those who love their rum-based tipples.

Currently available are six cocktails, four of which are rum-based. There’s Malaysia’s signature cocktail the Jungle Bird, a rum-based punch called Papi’s Punch, as well as Over The Century, which is essentially a Rum Old Fashioned. Our favourite though is El Cuatro Presidente. This is a take on the classic El Presidente but made with Bacardi Cuatro, as explosive in flavour as it is potent.

The Bar at 15 Stamford Liquid Brunch even lets you order rum by the dram. This means that you can end off – heck, or even start – your meal with a rum tasting flight from Barcardi’s premium rum portfolio if you so wish.

There are many weekend cocktail brunches about. But if you’re into your rums and rum cocktails, this liquid brunch by The Bar at 15 Stamford is where it’s at.
