The 7th edition of Hong Kong Whisky Festival will take place from 31 May to 1 June 2025 at InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong.
If there’s one good reason for a whisky lover to be in Hong Kong end of this month, it’s Hong Kong Whisky Festival 2025. Running 31 May to 1 June, the latest edition of the city’s biggest whisky extravaganza will see presenting venue InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong transform into a multi-level mecca of malts featuring over 1,300 whiskies and artisanal spirits for your tasting pleasure.
Following a successful edition last year, Hong Kong Whisky Festival 2025 promises to be bigger, bolder, and even more brilliantly blended, than ever. Whether you’re a serious connoisseur or a new and curious sipper, the two-day whisky fiesta will offer an expansive and immersive experience — spread over four floors of the luxury hotel — guaranteed to deepen your enthusiasm and broaden your perspective for your favourite malts.
Whiskies represented at the festival this year will include those from many iconic distilleries we’ve come to know and love, from Scottish marques such as Glenfarclas, Springbank and Bruichladdich to Sazerac, the makers of many American whiskies such as Sazerac, Buffalo Trace, Stagg, Weller, Colonel E.H. Taylor, and more.
But this 2025 edition will also shine the spotlight on world whiskies, particularly from under-appreciated whisky making regions. You’ll get to sample sips from China’s pioneering whisky producer Goalong Distillery, for example, Tasmania’s Lawrenny Estate, Japan’s craft producers Hinomaru, Shindo and Saburomaru, as well as Ireland’s Ahascragh, the country’s first zero energy emissions whiskey distillery.
Those looking to do a deep dive can also choose from a staggering array of 45 masterclasses, each headed by a master distiller, seasoned brand ambassador or representative to guide tipplers at every level of the whisky journey, whether you’re a beginner or an expert.
For collectors? You’ll want to get your hands on these exclusive festival releases:
- 20YO Glenfarclas (sherry hogshead) distilled in 2004 — 355 bottles (HKD3,480)
- 13YO GlenAllachie (oloroso hogshead) distilled in 2011 — 108 bottles (HKD1,300)
- 15YO Ardbeg (Rivesaltes barrique) distilled in 2009 — 308 bottles (Price TBC)
“This iconic whisky event is set to be bigger and better than ever, bringing together renowned brands, rare independent bottles, esteemed brand ambassadors, and an extensive lineup of masterclasses catering to diverse price points and tasting experiences. We are honoured to contribute to the city’s spirit education, fostering a deeper appreciation for whisky,” says Lars Ruecker, Director of Food & Beverage, InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong.
“With an inclusive approach, this year’s event promises to engage enthusiasts at every level — from curious beginners to seasoned connoisseurs — through expertly curated masterclasses. We are confident that this celebration will captivate all whisky lovers and further enrich the whisky culture in our city,” he added.
