Singapore’s premiere (and only) annual homebrew competition iBrew Challenge will take place this year on 19 September from 2 to 7pm, and this year’s edition should see a large number of Singapore-based homebrewers duke it out with more than 30 different entries across a wide spectrum of beer styles.
If you’re a home brewer and would like to submit your beer into the competition, the last day of submission is 11 September at homebrew supply shop iBrew and costs $7 per entry. Trophies will awarded to winners and runners-up of each category, as well as the winner of the “Best Keg” contest and “Best of Show”.
If you’re not a homebrewer but would like to check out the scene, tickets are $50 for early bird special (if you purchase your ticket before 19 September), and $60 on-site. Now that’s a real deal, considering that you get to sample a free flow of homebrew many of which – based on what we tasted in previous years – are of top quality and can compete with commercially available craft beers.
Either way, you get to interact with (other) homebrewers of every stripe so it’s a great way to start if you’re looking to get into the hobby of making your own beer. Email [email protected] to purchase your tickets, or [email protected] to find out more about the rules of the homebrew competition.
