California’s acclaimed Paso Robles winemaking powerhouse DAOU Vineyards has officially expanded its global footprint into Southeast and North Asia.

Californian wine has been on the lips in this part of the world for all the wrong reasons recently — read: tariffs — but here’s one good reason to cheer. You’ll soon find the premium wines of DAOU Vineyards, one of California’s acclaimed winemakers, pouring in this part of the world. From Singapore to Seoul, discerning wine lovers can now experience the powerful elegance and craftsmanship of one of Paso Robles’ most iconic producers.

And yes, surprise surprise. DAOU Vineyards isn’t based in California’s celebrated Napa wine region or its similarly well-known Sonoma neighbour. Instead it sits within California’s Adelaida District AVA (American Viticultural Area), itself part of the multi-county Central Coast AVA.

Founded in 2007 by brothers Georges and Daniel Daou, DAOU Vineyards makes wine on DAOU Mountain, renowned for its high-elevation terroir. More importantly for wine geeks, the mountain boasts calcareous clay-limestone soils rarely found outside the best vineyards of Bordeaux. It’s also why winery has made its name with bold, expressive Bordeaux-style wines — especially its celebrated Cabernet Sauvignon — that rival even first-growth offerings from its French peers in both structure and finesse.

Sunrise and fog over DAOU Vineyards

DAOU’s debut in Asia brings some of the best from its portfolio, which includes:

  • DAOU Discovery Collection – Approachable, fruit-forward expressions that capture the essence of Paso Robles terroir, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc.

  • DAOU Reserve Collection – Sourced from the best vineyard parcels, these wines offer elevated character, depth, and complexity.

  • DAOU Estate Collection – Crafted from DAOU Mountain’s top vineyard blocks and aged in custom French oak barrels — with the flagship Soul of the Lion as the collection’s shiniest example — this range shows off the craftsmanship of chief winemaker Daniel Daou and the expressiveness of its terroir.

  • PATRIMONY – The crown jewel of DAOU Vineyards. A profound, age-worthy wine from its most exceptional fruit, PATRIMONY Cabernet Sauvignon is designed to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the world’s finest.

DAOU Estate Soul of a Lion

Beyond its winemaking credentials, DAOU’s brand has found cultural cachet. Its Paso Robles estate is now a magnet for wine-loving celebrities — it counts Taylor Lautner, Ariana Grande, and Timothée Chalamet as recent guests — and is growing its presence at high-profile events such as the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

As DAOU Vineyards descends on Asia with its unique blend of terroir, tradition, and cultural relevance to Asia, one thing is clear. This Californian winemaking powerhouse, with its Old World aspirations and New World audacity, is set on putting Pasa Robles firmly in your glass and on the map.

Prices for DAOU wines in Singapore range from S$50 for the DAOU Discovery Chardonnay to S$240 for the DAOU Estate Soul of a Lion and the S$430 PATRIMONY Cabernet Sauvignon. DAOU wines are now available at selected retailers, including Cold Storage, NTUC FairPrice Finest, and FairPrice Xtra, as well as fine wine stores such as Crystal Wines, Moomba, Le Rouge, Vivino, Grand Cru, and more. You can also enjoy DAOU wines at a selection of trendy and upscale restaurants and bars, including Wooloomooloo, HighHouse, Revolver, and Brasserie Astoria.
