From 2 to 29 June 2025, Penang Hawker Fare at Edge brings the unmistakable flavours of Penang’s street food scene to life with a stunning, sprawling culinary showcase worthy of Chulia Street.
But Penang fare is readily available in Singapore even at hotel buffets, I hear you say? Well I offer three good reasons why Penang Hawker Fare at Edge matters — Chef Toon Chin Hye of Ah Soon Fried Oyster near Gurney Drive, Swatow Lane Ice Kacang’s Chef Chew Soon Hock, and Chef Tan Pow Lai of Klang-based Tan Kee Poh Piah.
This triumvirate of legendary hawkers have been flown in to headline Penang Hawker Fare at Edge, offering their famed cult-favourite dishes.
There’s Chef Chin Hye’s fried oyster omelette, assembled to perfection and fired with the kind of wok-hei finesse that only comes with 40 years of experience, is bound to be a crowd-puller.
