Running 16-18 May, Sake Matsuri Singapore 2025 will feature more than 400 Japanese sake and artisanal spirits for tasting.
Sake fans, mark your calendars. Our beloved sake festival, Sake Matsuri Singapore, is back!
Taking place 16 to 18 May 2025, this milestone 10th edition not only marks how far the sake festival has grown over the years, but also signals the maturity of the culture of sake appreciation here in Singapore.
In fact Sake Matsuri Singapore 2025 will be the festival’s largest ever; this year a whopping 500 sakes and artisanal spirits from 150 breweries are made available for tasting. The festival’s signature free-flow tasting format is back — which means one ticket gets you unlimited samples of rare, award-winning, and cult favourite sakes — festival goers can expect everything from bold junmai daiginjos to funky namazake and aged koshu, alongside newer styles of umeshu and yuzu liqueurs that showcase Japan’s ever-evolving drinks landscape, many of which are exclusive to the event.
Even better? This time round, the festival will held in full air-conditioned comfort over two floors of the F1 Pit Building.
Among this year’s carefully curated selection include:
- The Tanuki Junmai Daiginjo brewed by Singapore’s own sake brewery Orchid Craftworks and released in celebration of this tenth edition of Sake Matsuri Singapore;
- Ryu Sho, a premium vegan sake by Fukushima Prefecture-based Nekka Brewery that’s inspired by the ancient Chinese “ryu sho” banquet tradition;
- W by Watanabe Shuzouten, a distinctively modern sake made with a bohemian brewing process – where Japanese comedy clips are played to the fermentation tanks – by the same producer behind Hourai sake;
- Kankoubai White Yuzu Sake, a yuzu sake by Kankoubai Sake Brewery from Mie Prefecture that’s inspired by traditional umeshu;
- Something Happy – Uki Uki Hops, a craft beer-inspired doboruku by Shiga’s Happy Taro that’s infused with hops;
- Sakari No.22, a unique sake by Hyogo’s prestigious Nada sake producer that blends junmai sake with uji matcha; and
- Tentaka Hachimitsu No Osake, an artisanal mead brewed using 100% natural Japanese honey and sake yeast.
Aside from being to meet brewery owners, master toji, and brewery representatives who will pour and share stories behind each bottle, serious sake enthusiasts can also sign up for various complimentary masterclasses to deep-dive into their favourite brews. Masterclass topics include ‘Elevating Flavour and Tradition with Hot Sake’, ‘The Future of Sake’, and ‘Sake Journey: A Regional Tour across Japan’.
And what’s a sake festival without food? Sake Matsuri Singapore 2025 will see an expanded gastronomic lineup that include gourmet providers such as smash burger sensation Ye Olde Cow, oyster shuckers The Oyster Cart, Mexican tacqueria Chimichanga, Fatt Choy Eating House, and Higher Ground by Thugshop.
For the first time in its festival history, Sake Matsuri has also partnered Pelago by Singapore Airlines to offer interested festival goers 500 bonus Krisflyer miles per ticket transaction.
“At its heart, Sake Matsuri has been about bringing the local sake community together. 10 editions on, it’s wonderful to see how Singapore has become so energised over sake, with many more events organised throughout the year. Our partnership with Pelago by Singapore Airlines is our way of saying thank you to Singapore’s sake lovers who have grown with us over the years,” said Kevin Ngan, co-founder of Sake Matsuri Singapore.
Whether you’re there to hunt down elusive microbrews, brush up on your sake knowledge, or just soak up the electric atmosphere with a glass in hand, Sake Matsuri Singapore 2025 is a can’t-miss celebration of craftsmanship, culture, and community.
