Preferred Hotels & Resorts enters the private-jet arena with Legendary Journeys, a 17-night, seven-country odyssey that redefines ultra-luxury travel through the power of independent hospitality.
Luxury travel is entering a new golden age. The global luxury travel market, valued at over US$2.7 trillion in 2025, is projected to double by 2032 as affluent consumers take a leaf out of the millennial playbook, prioritising experiences over possessions. Private-jet holidays, once the preserve of a privileged few, are now the fastest-growing segment, rising by more than 15 per cent annually.
Up into this (literally) rarified air steps Preferred Hotels & Resorts with Legendary Journeys: a 17-night, seven-destination private-jet odyssey designed for those who have seen it all and seek a brand new perspective.
A new kind of luxury flight plan
Launched in partnership with Bucketlist Xperiences, the itinerary will depart on 6 October 2026, carrying just 29 couples aboard a bespoke VIP airliner. Inside, you’ll find lie-flat leather seating, gourmet dining by a private chef, curated wines, and a 17-member service team to take care of the little details for the duration of the trip.
The route arcs from Singapore to Jaipur, Kigali, Kenya, Santorini, Marrakech, and finally London. Each stop unlocks what Preferred calls “once-in-a-lifetime moments”, which range from a private reception with Rwanda’s president to a sunrise balloon safari over the Maasai Mara and a secret dinner in a Santorini mansion accompanied by local musicians.
Priced from US$133,500 per person (double occupancy), the journey is long enough to feel life-changing without changing your availability status to ‘sabbatical’.

The experience economy ascends
The stereotype used to be that millennials and the new generations value experiences over more ‘traditional’ pursuits like wine-collecting, for example, and it seems like that mantra has caught up with their forebears.
Preferred’s Luxury Travel Report 2025 revealed that 61 per cent of affluent travellers define “once-in-a-lifetime moments” as the ultimate luxury, while 75 per cent seek experiences curated by insiders.
In any case, this desire aligns with behavioural and neuroeconomic research showing that novel, meaningful experiences trigger stronger and longer-lasting dopamine responses than material acquisitions, and Preferred is betting that it’s time for Legendary Journeys to make its move.
What independents bring to the table
In this growing niche segment, Legendary Journeys looks to differentiate itself through diversity. Most private-jet expeditions are run by a single hotel brand or operator, so you are assured of a consistent brand experience. On the flip side, it also means one thing — predictability.
This is also what Preferred Hotels & Resorts is hedging on. As the world’s largest network of independent luxury hotels, it represents over 600 properties that meet its exacting standards but retain their unique identities. This way, Preferred can curate each leg around distinct expressions that can rival any global chain: the heritage grandeur of The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore, the cinematic minimalism of Andronis Luxury Suites Santorini, or the theatrical urban design of The Londoner.
Preferred also offers its own rewards programme, so travellers aren’t penalised for taking the path less travelled. Each participant receives Titanium Status in the I Prefer Hotel Rewards programme and 1,000,000 points — equivalent to over 10 complimentary nights at participating hotels worldwide.

More than a tour — a thesis on modern luxury
No one’s claiming this will redefine luxury travel. But what it does offer is an angle the usual suspects can’t: a route stitched from independent heavyweights, each with its own voice instead of a single brand template. It’s a different way of doing things — and sometimes that’s reason enough.
The inaugural trip lifts off from Singapore on 6 October 2026 and ends in London seventeen days later.
