Kuala Lumpur’s increasingly crowded luxury hotel landscape has another new contender in Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur, which brings a more social, F&B-driven approach to the city’s upscale hospitality scene.
One of the latest additions to Kuala Lumpur’s increasingly competitive upscale hospitality scene is Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian debut of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Kimpton brand.
Located within the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) precinct and directly connected to The Exchange TRX lifestyle and retail development, the 466-room property positions itself within one of the city’s fastest-growing mixed-use districts, an area that has rapidly attracted new hospitality, retail and commercial investment.
The hotel spans 26 storeys and includes rooftop leisure facilities, a fitness centre, yoga terrace, and multiple food-and-beverage venues designed to serve both hotel guests and local patrons. Design of the property was led by architecture and design firm Hassell, with interiors guided by a “Botanics Beyond Aesthetics” concept incorporating references to Malaysia’s rainforest landscapes through greenery, earthy materials and locally influenced artwork.

A significant part of the hotel’s positioning centres on its dining and bar concepts, reflecting the growing importance of F&B-led traffic generation within urban lifestyle hotels. Among the key venues is Four Siblings, a rooftop cocktail bar built around four spices commonly associated with Malaysian cuisine — cinnamon, clove, star anise and cardamom — alongside Sabato’s, a retro-inspired Italian-American restaurant drawing influence from New York-style “red sauce” dining culture. There’s also all-day dining venue Tuai + Till offering heartfelt seasonal local flavours with Malaysian-inspired café vibes.
The arrival of Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur comes at a time when the city’s hotel sector is already well supplied with internationally branded luxury and premium properties.
In recent years, the market has seen a steady influx of new openings across both established hospitality districts and emerging urban developments — such as the opening of Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur the middle of last year in the city’s traditional luxury corridor within the city centre — intensifying competition for both international travellers and local dining and lifestyle audiences.
Against this backdrop, Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur appears positioned less as a conventional luxury hotel and more as a lifestyle-oriented urban social hub, one that combine accommodation, dining, nightlife and cultural programming within integrated urban developments.
