Ninh Binh’s emergence as a premium travel destination takes a significant step forward with the opening of Pullman Ninh Binh, the province’s first internationally branded hotel and a sign of growing confidence in Northern Vietnam’s next hospitality frontier.

Ninh Binh in Northern Vietnam has long existed in the shadow of more established tourist destinations such as Hanoi, Da Nang and Ha Long Bay. Yet the region has increasingly come under the spotlight as one of Vietnam’s next hospitality growth markets, attracting visitors for its dramatic limestone landscapes and UNESCO-listed heritage sites that’s also boosted growing domestic tourism appeal.

Located approximately 90 minutes by road from Hanoi’s international gateway, Ninh Binh has become known for attractions including the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Trang An landscape complex, the ancient capital of Hoa Lu and Cuc Phuong National Park. The province’s distinctive karst formations and river systems have earned comparisons to inland Ha Long Bay, while improved infrastructure and tourism investment continue to drive visitor growth.

Amidst this boom is the opening of Pullman Ninh Binh, introducing the destination’s first internationally branded hotel and raising the profile of a province many international travellers have yet to fully discover.

Classic Pullman touches in the lobby.

Occupying the tallest building in the city, the 283-key property offers panoramic views across Ninh Binh’s mountain and rice field landscapes. Its design draws heavily from the surrounding environment through the use of natural materials, greenery and locally sourced elements, while the public spaces follow Pullman’s increasingly familiar emphasis on fluidity between work, social interaction and leisure. Open-plan arrival spaces transition into lounges and flexible work areas intended to serve both business and lifestyle travellers.

Accommodation comprises guestrooms and suites with private balconies overlooking the city on one side or surrounding mountains on the other. Higher-tier suites include Executive Lounge access, while the Presidential Suite incorporates dual balconies, a private kitchen and dedicated dining space.

Food and beverage concepts form a substantial part of the offering. These include all-day dining restaurant FoodConneXion and Lumi Lounge, while rooftop venue Bublx positions itself as Ninh Binh’s highest Champagne bar with views extending towards Trang An. Additional concepts — steakhouse Mad Cow Wine & Grill and Cantonese restaurant Hoa Thuy Tien — are scheduled to open later this year.

Rooms at Pullman Ninh Binh face offer either city or mountain views.

Meetings and events infrastructure are central to the property’s strategy, with Pullman Ninh Binh offering 1,700 square metres of flexible event space designed to accommodate conferences, corporate functions and hybrid meetings. Key amenities include three swimming pools, sports courts, as well as a 24-hour fitness centre and spa facilities.

“Ninh Binh holds exceptional potential for both leisure and business travel,” said David Stanley de Brito, General Manager of Pullman Ninh Binh, who adds that the province possesses the cultural heritage and natural assets to evolve into a leading Vietnamese destination over time.

The arrival of Pullman Ninh Binh suggests the region may be approaching a new phase that signals a broader shift toward premium hospitality beyond Vietnam’s traditional tourism centres. Once considered a day-trip extension of Hanoi, it may have just transitioned to a destination increasingly capable of sustaining longer, premium stays.
