This Mid-Autumn Festival, Singapore’s top hotels serve up mooncakes that span tradition, innovation, and even one with a cheeky cocktail pairing.

Mooncake season in Singapore isn’t just about salted yolks and white lotus paste anymore (although these are still lovely) — it’s about heritage, reinvention, and sometimes even a splash of booze. This Mid-Autumn Festival, hotels and restaurants across the city are rolling out their most indulgent and imaginative collections yet: from tea-laced classics at Pan Pacific Singapore and playful snow skins at Carlton Hotel, to Shangri-La’s cocktail-inspired confections complete with a Negroni chaser.

Whether you’re a traditionalist, a durian devotee, or a barfly with a sweet tooth, there’s a mooncake box with your name on it.

Traditional Baked Mooncakes from Hai Tien Lo

Pan Pacific Singapore

Here’s one for the traditionalists — for this Mid-Autumn Festival, Pan Pacific Singapore’s award-winning Cantonese restaurant Hai Tien Lo has unveiled a collection that puts the spotlight firmly on the classics. That is, old-school baked mooncakes.

Leading the selection is the Hai Tien Lo No. 1 Tea with Melon Seeds Baked Mooncake (S$95 for four), a tea-infused favourite that blends robust herbal notes with melon seed crunch. A new entrant this year, the Pandan Paste with Roasted Sunflower Seeds (S$95), channels local flavours with fragrant pandan and nutty seeds. Purists can turn to the perennial Single Yolk White Lotus Paste (S$95), while the Double Yolk White Lotus Paste ($99) delivers a more indulgent hit of salted egg richness. For the best of all worlds, the Four Treasures Baked Mooncakes (S$98) bring together one of each flavour in a single box — an ideal option for gifting. The lineup of baked mooncakes come housed in a hand-crafted red gift box adorned with gold motifs — an elegant keepsake designed to be repurposed as a jewellery case.

While baked mooncakes remain the highlight, snow skin fans will find favourites like the Mao Shan Wang Durian (S$108) and Mango Pomelo (S$95).

Hai Tien Lo’s mooncake collection this year is available now till 6 October 2025. To order, call +65 6826 8240 or +65 9009 5936, email [email protected], or purchase online at panpacificsingapore.oddle.me.

This year's mooncake collection from Carlton Hotel Singapore

Carlton Hotel Singapore

There’s tradition, and then there’s playful innovation carefully applied to Chinese heritage. Carlton Hotel Singapore brings contemporary flair to this year’s Mid-Autumn festivities with an emphasis on inventive snow skin creations alongside its signature baked classics from its popular Cantonese restaurant Wah Lok.

Leading the lineup is the indulgent Mini Mao Shan Wang Snow Skin Mooncake (S$90 for eight), generously filled with silky pure durian flesh wrapped in soft, mochi-like skin — a perennial bestseller among durian devotees. Two new flavours make their debut: the Mini Da Hong Pao Milk Tea Snow Skin (S$85 for eight), which layers the deep fragrance of premium Chinese tea with the creamy richness of milk tea, while the Mini Strawberry Passionfruit Snow Skin (S$85 for eight) offers a refreshing burst of strawberry, passionfruit, and citrus for a lighter, brighter festive bite. Prefer variety? Go for the Assorted Mini Snow Skin Selection (S$85 for eight), lets you sample both new flavours in one box.

Snow skin mooncakes may steal the limelight this season at Wah Lok, but heritage lovers can still find its beloved baked signatures like White Lotus Paste with Double Yolk (S$95 for four) and Traditional Mixed Nuts (S$95). All are presented in a bold red box with orchid-inspired 3D motifs, designed to transform into a stylish tissue holder — a sustainable, useful memento.

Wah Lok’s mooncake collection is available for pre-order at celebrations.carltonhotel.sg until 29 September, with up to 30% early bird discounts before 21 September.

This year's mooncakes from Origin Bar in Shangri-La Singapore

Shangri-La Singapore

And for those who like their mooncakes with a more unusual, cheeky twist? The one from Shangri-La Singapore’s Origin Bar may just be the most playful indulgence of this Mid-Autumn season.

Now in its fourth year, the limited-edition Origin Bar Mid-Autumn Gift Set (S$128) follows its predecessors by blurring the line between cocktail hour and festive tradition. Inside are six mini mooncakes inspired by Origin Bar’s signature tipples from its latest ‘Point of View’ cocktail menu — the spiced-and-creamy Carrot Cake cocktail reimagined as a decadent mooncake, and the Tea-ramisu, which layers Thai milk tea with the velvety richness of tiramisu. To complete the pairing, the set even comes with a sleek 5oz flask of Negroni, making it possibly the only mooncake box in town that comes with its own nightcap. The packaging is just as theatrical: closed, it resembles a cosmic galaxy; opened, it reveals a luminous moon, twinkling stars, and a cheeky rabbit as a nod to Mid-Autumn folklore.

But of course there are classics too. The Red Date Pumpkin Seed with Bird’s Nest Mooncakes (S$140 for four) from its award-winning flagship Chinese restaurant Shang Palace add a luxurious, nourishing touch, while the new Moonlit Premium Gift Set (S$188) pairs reduced-sugar double yolk lotus mooncakes with Shang Palace Pu Er tea and an elegant tea set.

Shangril-La Singapore’s mooncake collection is available for pre-order until 6 October 2025 at bit.ly/ShangriLaMidAutumn2025.
