At 54° Steakhouse, the timeless ritual of fire and beef meets modern finesse, redefining what a contemporary chop house can be in Singapore’s ever-evolving dining scene.
There’s something enduring about the appeal of a steakhouse — the ritual of open flame, the hiss of fat meeting heat, the drama of a perfectly crusted ribeye arriving table side. It’s primal, timeless, and deeply satisfying. Singapore, for all its obsession with novelty, loves a good classic chop house.
And one of the latest to open? 54° Steakhouse.
Named for the temperature of a perfect medium-rare steak of 54°C, and also a play on the address of their location at 54 Amoy Street, it’s the latest addition to the culinary lineup under Food Concepts Group, which includes contemporary Italian stalwarts Altro Zafferano and Griglia Open Fire Italian Kitchen.

54° Steakhouse brings a level of refinement that feels quietly confident rather than showy. The interiors, spread across two conjoined heritage shophouses, balance heritage gravitas with modern polish — dark woods, marble, and burnished metal surfaces warmed by ambient light. There’s an unhurried rhythm to the space, the sort of atmosphere that makes you want to linger on just for a little while.
The menu, under the hand of Group Executive Chef Andrea De Paola, is both classical and worldly. At its heart is a custom-made charcoal grill fuelled by Southern Australian ironbark, a dense wood prized for giving a long consistent burn, as well as white binchotan which provides the intensity of heat needed to seal in the juices even as it develops a proper crust on meats. It’s an approach that yields smoke and sear which, of course, means flavour.
Unsurprisingly, steaks take up much of the real estate on the menu. You’ll find standard cuts like striploin, ribeye and porterhouse, to the less common such as petit tender and rump cap. They also offer a good range of sources so diners can opt for the strong beefy flavour of the 100% Angus beef of Black Onyx Angus by Rangers Valley (Australia) or USDA Prime Linz Heritage Angus (Chicago, USA), or the fatty tenderness of Satsuma Wagyu (Kagoshima, Japan) and Sanchoku Wagyu (Australia).

Steak lovers on the hunt for something special are in for a treat as the Porterhouse and T-Bone cuts of Black Market Beef by Rangers Valley (Australia) are exclusive to 54° Steakhouse. Flown in in limited quantities each week, the 100% verified Black Angus represent the very best of this premium Australian beef.
Make sure to pair your steak with some of 54° Steakhouse’s classic accompaniments like Mac and Cheese, Fried Blooming Onion, and our favourite, a side of crispy Triple-Cooked Fried Potatoes served with Spanish-style bravas sauce.
Steak may be the focus of 54° Steakhouse, yet non-beef eaters do have options here. Pick from Lemon Myrtle King Salmon with Asparagus, Avocado, and Yuzu, and Pan-Seared Hokkaido Scallops with Leek Velouté, Smoked Bacon, and Truffle on the starter menu, to Grilled Octopus with Chorizo XO and Potato Mousseline, and Snake River Kurobuta Pork Chop with Japanese Cabbage and Apricot Chutney for mains.

Any steakhouse worth their salt offers a proper drinks list, and 54° Steakhouse is no different. Here the beverage programme is carefully curated to complement their food; wine is di rigueur of course, but there’s also an impressive range of cocktails, sake and spirits including nearly 30 whisky labels (as well as luxury cognac Remy Martin Louis XIII for those with bottomless pockets).
If Singapore’s steakhouse scene were once about grandeur and expense-account excess, 54° embodies what the modern diner now craves — craftsmanship without pretension, detail without stiffness, indulgence that touches the soul.
In that sense, 54° Steakhouse doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel. It simply pivots in a slightly different direction — 54 degrees to one side, to be exact.
