Hong Kong looks set to assert its claim for the title of Asia’s leading culinary capital this October when the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival swings around for its 2025 edition.
If you’re a gastronome residing in Hong Kong, here’s some great news: the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival makes a grand return this year, and its latest edition will see the highly-anticipated food- and wine-focused festival pop up again at Central Harbourfront for four days from 23 to 26 October 2025.
Originally the Hong Kong Food Festival, the prominent gastronomic event has grown massively over the years since its debut edition in 2003 to become one of Asia’s largest food and wine festivals. Organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board in collaboration with the Bordeaux Wine Council (CIVB), this year’s festival promises to bring together world-class chefs, fine wines, and the city’s pulsating nightlife for four days of indulgence.
This year’s theme is “REMIX. BEST OF ALL WORLDS”, a nod to Hong Kong’s culinary DNA where East meets West and tradition meets innovation. The annual gastronomic playground will feature more than 300 booths to sate any kind of appetite, but for the wine lover it’s going to be literal wine heaven with around 70% of those booths dedicated to wine representing some 31 countries and regions.
Among the wine-centric pavilions are those from Bordeaux, the United Kingdom, Spain, China, Japan, as well as new additions such as the United States, Italy, and Austria, vinophiles will be able to swirl and sip everything from renowned Bordeaux First Growths to cult Napa favourites in equal measure.
The major wine highlight? Possibly the BEA Grand Wine Pavilion, curated by renowned critic James Suckling, featuring over 100 top-rated wines from around the world.
As for food, you’ll want to hunt down the ‘Towngas Gourmet Avenue’ — which will gather 12 of Hong Kong’s top restaurants boasting a total 13 Michelin stars and 7 Black Pearl diamonds — while ‘Hotel Delicious’ returns with culinary showcases from 11 of the city’s most prestigious hotels.
And if you’re hankering for the ultimate dining experience, Tasting Room’s 10-hand collaborative dinner “Taste the Extraordinary: Beyond Cantonese Flavour” sees where a dream team of Michelin-starred chefs — such as Chef Andrew Wong of London’s A.Wong (pictured below) — reinterpret Cantonese cuisine for a new generation.
Beyond wine and food, the festival captures Hong Kong’s evolving drinking scape. Hong Kong’s mixology scene, for example, continues to push the boundaries of creativity and craft, with city’s ever-growing stable of world-class bars — like COA, Bar Leone, and DarkSide — regularly getting onto the Asia’s 50 Best Bars and World’s 50 Best Bars lists. Together, these experiences underline why the city remains one of the region’s most dynamic destinations for both gourmands, wine lovers and cocktail enthusiasts alike.
