Pattaya’s beach scene gets a glamorous new chapter with the launch of LAY Beach Club by Meliá Pattaya, a Mediterranean-inspired playground with a hydro bar, panoramic views, and high-octane nightlife.
Pattaya has a new pulse. Opened this July is LAY Beach Club, which is rewriting the script for Thailand’s most famous beach town on the Gulf of Thailand’s east coast with its sultry take on Ibiza.
Set along bustling Beach Road just a short 90-minute drive from Bangkok, LAY Beach Club is staking its claim as Pattaya’s “place to be”. The sprawling lounge and bar — it seats a whopping 250 people, with a rooftop that adds space for another 300 more against panoramic views of Pattaya Beach — is all about Mediterranean languor during the day, inviting guests to chill out.
But the eye-catching centrepiece of the stunning venues is a shimmering hydro bar, one that blurs the line between sea and sky inviting guests to sip cocktails while reclining on submerged loungers that seem to float into the horizon. Around it, white sands, circle sofas, and private cabanas create a scene as photogenic as it is indulgent.

It’s certainly a place to be and be seen, as it may.
For food LAY serves an à la carte menu marrying Mediterranean classics and Asian flavours. Think fresh seafood paella, hand-shucked oysters with shallot mignonette, and pillowy Sicily cannoli drenched in pistachio and chocolate.
As for drinks? The list reads like a passport of pleasures. Alongside champagne, wines, and smoothies are inventive house cocktails from an award-winning bar team. Highlights include the Blue Tides, a pandan-scented vodka and coconut concoction crowned with a cloud of blue coconut foam; the floral-citrus Wave Rider, blending gin, Lillet Rosé, rose syrup and aloe vera; and the fiery Sriracha Spark, a bold Thai riff on the Bloody Mary.
When the sun dips, the mood shifts. DJs, LED visuals, and high-energy dance performances transform the venue into a full-throttle nightlife destination, with the nightly 20-minute fire show bringing sparks — literally — to the beach.

Open daily from 11am until midnight, LAY Beach Club isn’t just another new venue: like its sister concept Yitong Chinese Restaurant & Sky Bar this bold reimagining of Pattaya’s beach culture — where Mediterranean style, Thai hospitality, and a touch of theatrical flair come together in one irresistible setting — is set to see Meliá Pattaya bring new life to this corner of the Thai beach paradise.
LAY Beach Club is located at 429, 8 Beach Rd, ตำบล หนองปรือ, Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri 20150, Thailand. For reservations and more information about Lay Beach Club, please call +66 33 168 599.
